The most interest presents the original collection of the Baron Hans- Heinrich Thyssen- Bornemosza. Here are presented the works from different schools: English, German Renaissance, early Italian like Duccio and his contemporaries or 17th century Dutch like Yan Van Eyck, Hans Holbein and Albrecht Durer, 19th century American. Besides, the museum hosts portraits not having equal by Vittore Carpaccio or Domenico Ghirlandaio and works of the most excellent and incomparable painters of Renaissance and Baroque, like Rembrandt, Murillo, Titian, Sebastiano del Piombo or Van Dyck. The works of the Royal collection of the museum include impressionism, German expressionism, Russian constructivism, Geometric Abstraction, Pop Art and American and European paintings from the second half of the 20th century. The representatives of these directions are Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Edward Hopper and Picasso.

And this is not surprising, among the most inimitable works are the The Thaw at Vetheuil by Monet, Easter morning by Caspar David Friedrich, The Resurrected Christ by Bramantino, The toilet of Venus by Ruben Young night in a Landscape by Carpaccio.
