Retiro Park Madrid

The Retiro Park is a very popular park among both tourists and locals. The park located in the very city centre forms a green oasis of 118 hectares. The Retiro Park was originally built for King Phillip IV. It was opened to the public in 1868. The main entrance is near the Alcala Gate, at the Plaza de la Independence.
